System Design

Critical systems in underground life

In long-duration scenarios energy, water, heating and monitoring systems depend on each other. Getting that interdependence right is the backbone of the project.

Energy hierarchy

Shelter energy is not tied to a single source. Priority order and automatic transfer scenarios are planned between grid, generator and battery bank.

Critical loads (ventilation, lighting, monitoring) are built as a separate low-voltage circuit with manual operation scenarios prepared.

Water & waste

As important as stored water volume is the circulation and refresh regime. Stagnant water can become unhealthy in a short time.

Wastewater management is designed together with the clean/dirty zone separation. A poorly planned drain line can be the weakest link in the protective envelope.

Indoor climate

Temperature, humidity and CO₂ levels set not just performance but the comfort threshold for long-term life.

An improperly sized HVAC directly affects filter life, energy consumption and occupant health.

Monitoring & alarms

Indoor and outdoor radiation, gas and pressure sensors must be readable on a central panel.

The alarm hierarchy must be clear; the user should only be notified when action is required.
