Shelter Ventilation System
The shelter ventilation system manages clean airflow, indoor air quality and pressure balance, making long stays in a sealed volume possible.
Airflow per occupant
Ventilation sizing starts from occupancy and activity level. Insufficient flow lets carbon dioxide accumulate, degrading performance and making long stays unsustainable. Flow is selected with filter pressure drop included.
Pressure balance and exhaust
Supplied air must leave in a controlled way. Overpressure valves release excess air outward without letting anything in, keeping positive pressure stable.
Blast dampers
Intake and exhaust lines are protected by blast dampers that stop external overpressure from reaching the shell. They are the first line of defence before filtration.
Humidity, temperature and CO₂ control
Heat and moisture build up quickly in a sealed volume. Dehumidification, heat recovery and CO₂ monitoring protect both comfort and equipment life.
Emergency and manual mode
On power loss the system switches to backup power and, if needed, a manually driven fan. Rehearsing that transition on site matters as much as the design.
